James 2:10–11
“For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. For he who said, 'You shall not commit adultery,' also said, 'You shall not murder.' If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.”
Understanding this passage
James levels the ground: nobody stands by a perfect record. The point is our need for mercy, not a reason to quit.
Why this verse helps
Discouragement says one stumble ruined everything. This verse admits we all need grace—so get up, don't pretend you were ever self-sufficient.
