Romans 12:20

On the contrary: 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.'

Understanding this passage

Paul quotes Proverbs to show a better answer than revenge: meet an enemy's need. Kindness can convict a hard heart more than retaliation.

Why this verse helps

Anger wants the other person to hurt. This verse turns that energy into unexpected care, and leaves the results with God.

A prayer for you

Jesus, help me feed and serve even those who have hurt me. Overcome my anger with Your kindness. Amen.
