1 Thessalonians 4:7–8

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, anyone who rejects this instruction does not reject a human being but God, the very God who gives you his Holy Spirit.

Understanding this passage

Paul roots holy living in God's call, not in human opinion. Rejecting God's way is rejecting God Himself, who also gives His Spirit to help.

Why this verse helps

Doubt can treat Scripture like optional advice. This verse reminds you the call is from God, and His Spirit is given to live it.

A prayer for you

Holy Spirit, I do not want to reject God. Help me live the holy life He called me to. Amen.
