Romans 7:24–25

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Understanding this passage

Paul names the inner split that makes God feel distant, then thanks God for rescue through Jesus. Deliverance is the answer, not self-repair.

Why this verse helps

The cry 'who will rescue me?' is already in the Bible. The answer is also there: God delivers you through Christ.

A prayer for you

Jesus, I feel wretched and far. Thank You that You deliver me. Rescue me again. Amen.
