Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Understanding this passage

David pictures God as a shepherd walking beside His sheep through dark valleys. Presence, not absence of danger, drives out fear.

Why this verse helps

Fear often imagines walking alone through darkness. This verse promises God's companionship in the valley itself.

A prayer for you

Good Shepherd, walk with me through what I fear. Let Your presence comfort me. Amen.
