Psalm 49:5–6
“Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?”

The psalmist questions fear of people who look powerful because of money. Their security is thinner than it looks.

Fear often inflates what threatens you. This verse asks a better question: why fear people whose hope is only in wealth?
