2 Thessalonians 2:13–14

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Understanding this passage

Paul reminds a pressured church that they are loved, chosen, and called to share Christ's glory. Salvation is God's work, not a mood.

Why this verse helps

Hopelessness can say you do not belong in God's story. This verse says you were chosen, called, and headed toward glory.

A prayer for you

Father, thank You that I am loved and called. Let me share in the glory of Jesus. Amen.
