Romans 6:12–14
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.”
Understanding this passage
Paul treats desire as something that wants to rule. Grace does not excuse that rule; it dethrones it and offers your body to God instead.
Why this verse helps
Lust feels like a master. This verse says sin shall no longer be your master—you can offer yourself to God as someone already brought from death to life.
A prayer for you
Lord, do not let sin reign in my body. I offer every part of myself to You under grace. Amen.
