James 1:2–3
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
Understanding this passage
James does not call shame good, but he does say trials can produce perseverance. God can grow something durable in a hard season.
Why this verse helps
Shame says this pain is only waste. Testing can still produce endurance if you stay with God in it.
A prayer for you
Lord, this trial is heavy. Produce perseverance in me and do not let shame have the last word. Amen.
